Few people may know that this past week has been “Post Doc appreciation week”. Post Doctoral researchers are also known as career scientists. They have their PHD and now move on to research incredibly specific areas of science and other subjects. This can vary from how one virus can kill off various types of amphibians, to how to teach science to pupils in a more learner friendly environment.
I was lucky enough to be asked to film these talks as they took place over this past week. They were held at the Museum of natural science in Downtown Raleigh. I know it has been a project NC State wanted to give some exposure and try to make into more of an event. The talks were presented in a “TED Talks” style, to try and entice youngsters and everyday people to take more of an interest in the science that is being researched at their local University.
The short 10 minute talks are currently in the editing process and once finished will be viewable through this website and the NC State website.
